John Dickie is Professor of Italian Studies at University College London. He was among the founders of Modern Italy, the journal of ASMI. His publications include Mafia Republic (2013) and Mafia Brotherhoods (2011) which together constitute a parallel history of Italy's three major criminal associations or mafias from Italian unification to the present day. Recently, he has written and presented several television documentaries for the History Channel in Italy and other channels worldwide, including the BBC. In 2016 his book Delizia! (2007), a history of Italian foodways, was turned into a six-part documentary series entitled De gustibus for History Channel Italia.
